Debt Negotiation Companies

Have you been taken advantage of by a debt negotiation company? Don’t feel bad, thousands of others have, as well.

These “debt negotiation” or “debt reduction” predators typically sign you up for huge up-front fees, promising that they will reduce your credit card debt by up to 50%. How? They tell you to stop paying on your credit cards, and put the money into a savings account instead – one which they conveniently manage.

Their contract also specifically disclaims that they ever told you to stop paying your bills.

The theory is that, once you’ve saved enough, the debt reduction leeches will then contact your card company and negotiate a 50% reduction in the amount you owe.

Here’s the rub, though: their up-front and ongoing costs are OUTRAGEOUS. Absolutely over the top. Typically, I see fees of $7,000 to $10,000 for the “services” these scum perpetrate on distressed consumers. AND, your credit takes a hit.

If you have fallen prey to the debt negotiation wolves, I can often negotiate a full refund of your money, at a minimum. California also provides strong consumer laws which provide penalties and a good basis for suing these thugs.

Also, for some clients, I have found that we can take them through a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing, which eliminates all of their debt and provides a truly fresh start, for less than 1/4 of what the debt reduction/debt negotiation companies cost. And the consumer gets better results.

You need to  call me for your free consultation. I never, ever pressure anyone, and will give you unvarnished, complete truth about debt reduction/debt negotiation scams, and about your options under Chapter 7, chapter 13, or Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
