California Probate: Every Question, Answered
If someone died and their estate has to go through California probate, you probably want two things: to know what happens next, and to know what it costs. Probate is the court process that transfers what a person owned in their name alone. It is public, it runs on a statutory timeline, and the attorney and executor fees are set by law as a percentage of the estate. Not every estate needs full probate — California has shortcuts for smaller estates and for a surviving spouse. These guides walk through when probate is required, how the process actually runs, and what it will cost, in plain terms. If you would rather just ask a person, talk to Eric.
